This is a bit of an odd thing because it should "just work" out of the box, but you need to run sudo virtualbox if you want priviledged access to the USB ports (ie claiming them for the guest OS).
This allows nice things like updating Magic-X USB dongle (they only have Windows updater) on Mac.
